In July 2015, Cuba and the United States officially restored diplomatic relations, and although the economic embargo is still in place, academic relationships are still allowed. UConn faculty have been at the forefront of building relations with Cuban counterparts. Engagement with Cuba now includes collaboration and scholarship related to the island’s history, arts, literature, healthcare, agriculture, politics and economic development.
